Main rig is the Viking II with the R-390A rx. Backup is a DX-60B into an Ameritron amp (3 811s) with a Yaesu FRG 8800 rx. Slopbucket rig, rarely utilized, is a Kenwood TS-450S.
Scope is a Philips PM 3262. |

The other end of the shack and the stack of DX 100s, including a National NC-303 that is temporarily crapped out, an Apache and a DX-40. . There are also 3 Viking IIs neatly stashed under the steps. Shark's teeth. When you have a crapout, it's nice to have a spare (or 3). |

The new, improved antenna system - a 160-10 meter doublet from W7FG, fed with ladder line. Works on 75 as two half-waves in phase. Greatly improved signal! Check it out here. 5 weeks after my motorcycle wreck and I'm 40 feet up a tower. What a dope. In the slideshow, you'll notice that my climbing belt was fashioned from an old parachute harness. |
